Railroad Station
My buddy Jonathan was with me in Vicksburg and in the evening we would do photo safaris. He snapped a picture of me taking this picture. I had no idea until I saw it on Facebook. Here's the station.
More of Vicksburg, MS
I think you can see the damage done by the "torpedo" that sank her. Not really a torpedo as you might think today, but an explosive device triggered by solders from the shore. They got pretty lucky here when the Cairo floated over where they had positioned there torpedo.
Turns out Vicksburg is fairly photogenic. It's just a little town, but it's got a lot of history and charm. Not to mention some pretty decent food, but that's another subject. My first picture of Vicksburg was a cannon over looking a tent structure. I thought I'd show you what was under the tent. A boat called the Cairo. The only surviving boat of it's kind. It laid at the bottom of the Mississippi for about a hundred years - here it is today.

Vicksburg and the Civil War
I spent last week in Vicksburg, MS and got some education about the civil war. There were several battles around Vicksburg and there is now a national park there commemorating the history of the events there. Here's the first of my posts. This is HDR three shot hand held. Since I didn't have a tripod all of these will be hand held. I hope they turn out as well. The tent in the distance is the display of the war ship Cairo - I'll post pictures of it as well.

One Last Time?
Got up this fine Sunday morning to a very strange noise. The scene got stranger as I investigated. I had to take a picture. My neighbors couldn't resist using the snow blowers one more time. I hope it's the last! Come on Spring! Personally I plan on letting the snow melt.

Union Station - Ogden
I can't believe I haven't posted this one - I took it about a year and a half years ago and I really like it. I redid the HDR process in the new Photomatics and it of course looks even better than it did. This panorama is made up of 30 photos. I HDRed five exposures of each of six scenes and stitch them together in Photoshop.

Cotton or Snow
Got a really good snow storm last night. I went out about 10 pm and snapped a picture, it looks like we're growing cotton or something. As I'm posting this it's about 5 pm the next day most of the snow is almost gone.
