I thought since I was stuck inside that I would work on some old photos. This one taken in the summer of 1975 in Wilmington Delaware. Back in the day I was shooting with a Yashica TL Electra X. I had a 50 mm f1.7 lens and shot on 35 mm slide film
My son had a photo printed for me 25x40 inches. Turned out great. There's not much on their web site, but here's what I do know. The place is called Speedi Pack they are located at 371 N Main St Layton, UT 84041 801-547-0308
While I was shooting panoramas at the capitol I thought I would try a couple of shots of Ensign Peak. The light was drab and everything was gray and monochromatic so I thought what the heck. Let me know what you think. I shot this at 260 mm standing beside the capitol building. On a tripod obviously.
Took my camera and gear to work today to take pictures of the lights on temple square. The bus was late so I missed it. Well, I had to take pictures of something! So I went out a noon and snap over 100 shots. Here's a two shot (5 deep) HDR panorama
Got a free book today from from the author of BIG BIM little bim, Finith Jernigan you can look at ithere. I especially like the page with the frame in the lower left corner marked March 1992 and labeled Finith finds the tools for BIG BIM. This guy is a hero to me and is breaking a lot of very important ground. There are others, but that's for another time.
Here's one, try Seth's Blog, I read (listen to) his book on tribes. Great stuff. People in marketing may be aware of the concept of tribes I wasn't. The concept of tribes, or what ever you'd might call them has something to do with every thing in life. Life and work are a bit frustrating right now because we are expected to fall in line. I need to be a heretic especially when it comes to things like BIM and Integrated projects. Check out his blog This link is to his latest free offering.
I've been requested to get a good picture of the SL temple. Well there are so many pictures of that building I'm not sure what I can do that would be good. Took this one this morning just before the sun was up over the mountians.
Well after two years in Russia, Nick arrived home safe and sound. I would definitely call these snap shots not real photos, bad lighting, lots of airport traffic and not very much room. I decided to use one of my older lenses a 28 to 70 mm. It was one I had for shooting with my film camera and it seemed a little sluggish, but it got the job done.
My daughter in law called and needed a head shot. Well... it's been a while since I did any serious portrait work. All I had to work with (because I wasn't shooting in a studio) was the lighting and background in my family room. I hope she likes it. If she doesn't I guess we can try again. I have some great ideas about how to make this better.
